世界音楽駅伝〜World Music Relay

『世界音楽駅伝』

はじまりはマロンと裕子さんのクリスタルボウル演奏の練習でした。アメリカと日本、離れている２箇所でZoomを使っての練習。何度やってもうまくいかない。音が響かない。。。音が重ならない。。。悩みをかかえた先に見えたものは、リレーというスタイル！　リレーをするなら、いっそ３０人くらい集めたい。友達に声をかけ、知り合いに声をかけ、友達がその友達に声をかけ、どんどん輪が広がっていきました。日本はもちろん、イギリスから、アメリカから、メキシコから、あちこちから参加者が集まってきました。Bunさん、何日も徹夜で何ひとつ文句も言わず、それどころかいつも笑顔で編集作業をしてくださいました。感謝しかありません。ダニエル、英訳をこれまた嫌な顔ひとつせず、速攻でやってくれて、どうもありがとう。ユウコクレアちゃん、声がけを手伝ってくれてありがとう。そして、そして、裕子さん、一緒にやれて、本当に嬉しいです。わがままな私を、あたたかく包んでくださって感謝です。これを書いているいま、世界はコロナでてんやわんやです。でもマロンは、「この『世界音楽駅伝』で世界を変えよう」なんてことは微塵も思いません。誤解を恐れずに書くなら、これで何か、人を助けようというおこがましいことも思っていません。ただ、ひとりひとりが、単純に、純粋に楽しめたらいいんじゃないか、そう思っています。まず自分が楽しむことです。「世界の平和はひとりから」ひとりひとりが楽しむことで、結果的に、何かが起こると信じています。参加してくださったミュージシャンたちに、心から、ありがとうを伝えさせてください。

『World Music Relay』
This started with Marron and Hiroko practicing crystal bowls together over Zoom in the US and Japan. No matter how many times they tried, the results were not good. It was not possible to mix the sounds from the two locations.
The first idea was to try combining the sounds in a relay style! Next, we thought that if we were going to do a relay, then we should try to involve around 30 people. Friends and acquaintances were contacted, friends called their friends, and the circle grew and grew. Participants came from all over Japan, from the United Kingdom, from the United States, from Mexico.
Bun-san, thank you for staying up all night to complete the editing, always smiling. Daniel, thank you for helping with translation. Yuko Claire-chan, thank you for helping out. And, Hiroko, I'm really glad we could collaborate on this together. Thank you for warmly embracing me in my selfishness.
The world today, stricken with corona, is a mess. It would be wrong to imagine that this World Music Relay will somehow fix everything or even help people. But I think it would be nice if each person could simply enjoy themselves. First of all, enjoy yourself. "World peace comes from each person." I believe that something will happen as a result of each person getting some enjoyment from this project.
